Boo Vector Artwork

My favorite Nintendo character, Boo, received very little fan love. Disappointed with the lack of images out there, I set out to make my own vector version which I would ultimately put on a T-Shirt. Using a small 100 x 100 icon of "boo", I used the "Live Trace" feature within Adobe Illustrator CS2 to create him. I then used the "Live Paint" feature to color him. Isn’t he darling?
In the middle you can see the T-Shirt design I created. In the top-right hand corner you can see a CMYK (i.e. printable) version of the graphic.

Rating (4 out of 5):
When it comes to cases for you Axim, plenty of companies have you covered (pun intended!). There’s plenty of leather cases, hard cases, and fabric cases to choose from. However, leather cases can be rather expensive; fabric cases are nice but don’t necessarily protect you from much. So, Boxwave offers the Flexiskin case (made of silicone) in attempt to give you decent protection, little additional weight, and smooth finish. Boxwave bills this case as being both “usable and protective” - but how does it fare under real world circumstances? We’ll find out.

Gadgetive Logo Images
November 30, 2005 on 8:43 am | In Visual, Art Work | No Comments

When building my site, I knew I wanted a PDA and stylus as my central logo. However, a very simple logo was difficult to find - so instead, I made my own. It started with the image in the upper-left hand corner. I made this image in Adobe Illustrator CS2 using basic shapes and the "Live Paint" option.
Then, as shown in the upper-left hand corner I manipulated the image in Adobe Photoshop CS2 to give it more a 3d-beveled effect. Finally, I also made a "thick width" version as show in the bottom for the site’s favicon.ico. This allowed the pda to be seen more distinctly at a smaller size.

This was a contest entry I made for the Ilounge.com Design the Ultimate iPod Accessory contest. It was made over the course of a day, using a combination of Photoshop CS2 and Corel Paint Shop Pro 10. There was also an alternative version that read "Wake up and smell the music." I tried my hardest to match the "Apple" ad style, in both imagery and text.
Although it did not end up winning, it was featured in the Holiday Buyer’s Guide on page 93 as an Honorable Mention for the "Funny" category.

Introduction
Headphones are a great way to enjoy your music, and over the years we’ve seen these things go from ear-muff sized layers to dime-sized earbuds. Headphones are wonderful, except for all those silly wires! If only there was some sort of product that allowed you to enjoy earbud headphones and allowed you to retract the cord to form a nice small unit. Ah - but there is. Boxwave offers on their website a product they call "miniBuds" which provide optimal sound and organization, but how do they really fare? Read on to find out!
